INGRAM MICRO’S GLOBAL BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE (GBI) ORG

Ingram Micro's GBI organization is a profit generating strategic service that provides IT channel stakeholders with the insights and industry intelligence to generate more business, expand reach, and achieve pinpoint accuracy in their sales and marketing efforts. Through the GBI org, the analytics team develops high margin science offerings for Ingram’s Global Partners and internal Business Units including Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance.

Featuring the largest transactional, product, and inventory databases in the IT Distribution Channel, the analytics team offers Ingram’s global Vendor and Solution providers, Reseller Partners, and internal stakeholders customizable programs, services, and insights: including lead analytics, forecasts and growth targets, recommendation engines, propensity models, strategic analytic consulting, industry performance and insights, customer health analysis, product lifecycle analysis, as well as supply chain optimization, logistics and operations analytics.

THE POSITION

We are seeking an Analytics Manager for our fast-growing global Data Science team. The SMA will manage a diverse team of highly talented data analysts and data scientists to develop and support large-scale models with immediate and long-term relevance.

Reporting to the Data Science Director, the manager brings hands-on experience managing teams of experts and analysts, which will allow Ingram Micro to further expand the reach of Data Science with special emphasis on its Operations projects. The ideal candidate is passionate about problem-solving, is a great communicator and consultant, and is very focused on creating a positive and collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships and connect with Operations business stakeholders and Executive Leadership team on an ongoing basis to understand their needs.
  • Shape Operations projects for the team that bring value to the organization, including scoping, assumptions, deliverables, resourcing and ongoing support.
  • Work with the Project Manager to ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Contribute to the development of Data Science product/offering roadmaps in the Operations space, which typically include collaboration with the broader Global Business Intelligence team and business stakeholders.
  • Manage the development of analytic products that impact multi-billion dollars of stocked inventory. These products often include a combination of BI, Data Science and Operations Research features.

 

Required qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Economics, or related technical field. Post-graduate degree (MSc or PhD) is an asset.
  • 6+ years of experience with data analytics/ business intelligence, ideally in consulting environments.
  • 2+ years of experience leading a team of data analysts and/or data scientists.
  • Experience developing and delivering insights at scale to solve business-specific problems.

 

Assets

  • SQL skills
  • Working knowledge of BI tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, etc)

Skills:

  • Proactive and entrepreneurial, keenly interested in solving business problems.
  • Proven track record of mentoring and developing team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both collaboratively and independently when appropriate.
  • Ability to build relationships and effectively influence colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills in complex and changing environments.

 

Our Hybrid Work Program is now live for our office associates.
