*This position is in the Irvine, California corporate headquarters and has the opportunity for hybrid work with a few days remote per week.
Your role:
manage, direct, and provide leadership across all functions of the engineering organization globally including engineering, quality, health/safety and facilities. This includes the facility layout, material handling equipment, diagnostic and test tolls, production tools, material handling tools, and other engineering requirements needed to support the strategy of our customers, vendors, partners and best practices to carry out our global corporate engineering and operations practices. Director Engineering will partner with regional leaders to improve efficiencies in the aforementioned areas. Will have budget and deadline responsibilities in the functional areas managed in excess of $75M dollars. Role will manage and direct a team of 5 engineering professionals. Responsible for the negotiations of major real estate contracts, major system RFPs, global engineering projects and space planning.
Manage the Industrial Engineering leadership to support Ingram Micro at a global level. Develop strategy for engineering continuous process improvement, as well as industry-leading best practices and managing the functional department leading to successful execution of projects and decrease in ALC operating costs.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to interaction with real estate developers/warehouse building providers; negotiation and sourcing of applicable material handling equipment; facilitation of interface requirements; Additionally, this role will recommend supply chain configuration changes and capital investment decisions with respect to current infrastructure and processes that yield measurable improvements of throughput, capacity, and efficiency with the final objective to drive down labor and fixed overhead costs.
Cross functional interaction, management, and leadership at all levels within the corporate offices, business divisions, and in various distribution centers located throughout the globe in response to changing business needs.
Budgets, Capital and Contracts
Develop the operating budgets, both capital and expense, related to engineering, facilities, and warehousing redesign/operational improvement.
Manage all projects within budget guidelines.
Audit all AFCEs related to engineering and facility investments and provide approval.
Support functional business leaders in the negotiation of contracts to ensure optimal exposure, control and service levels.
Work with Strategic Sourcing to write contracts and implement new vendors and be involved with RFP projects to ensure final decision meets all objectives while managing costs effectively.
Ensure the development, effective recruitment, and management of all assets including associates and equipment needed.
Ability to lead people, set strategic direction, manage multiple highly visible strategic initiatives.
Problem solving where development of new solutions, methods and systems will result in a major impact on department's overall success.
Ability to implement own recommendations and see projects through to completion.

What you bring to the role:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering. A master’s in engineering is preferred and an MBA could be a differentiator.
10+ years of experience working in activities related to the job description, demonstrated and measurable experience with developing cost estimates and budgets, 3+ years of experience working at director/executive levels within a matrixed, global, high-volume organization - ideally fortune 100.
Knowledge in all phases of building operations, maintenance, repair, planning, and scheduling, building blueprints and building codes, key Federal, state and local regulation safety practices.
Skill in areas of financial administration, managing teams, communicating at executive levels, utilizing interpersonal skills to maintain effective relationships with other departments and the public, windows computer programs.
Possibility of being contacted 24-hours per day in emergency situations

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $158,400.00 - $277,100.00 per year.
The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate’s primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.
