This position can be in the Irvine, California corporate headquarters or remote.

 

We are looking for a Sr. Principal Visual Designer to join our team and help build the next generation digital platform used by global customers every day. You will have a direct impact on transforming a $50 billion company and 200,000+ businesses that transact with us by designing best-in-class user experiences.

Your role:

 

As a Sr. Principal Visual Designer, you will partner with engineering, product management, and business leaders to deliver high quality designs that get the customer’s job done and deliver positive business outcomes, while ensuring consistency across the platform.

You will use your creative superpowers to produce and re-use, UX and visual paradigms to help our users make data-driven decisions quicker and deliver an intuitive experience across multiple personas in complex scenarios. In your role as a visual designer, your day-to-day tasks will consist of creating visually engaging, innovative, and functional Web and mobile products. The visual designers’ responsibilities include areas of design such as typography, iconography, color, space, and texture. You will use your knowledge, expertise, and skills in all these fields to help our users successfully navigate and become comfortable with our products.

In this role, you will:

 

  • Own the quality of visual design execution across Ingram Micro Xvantage™ experiences, acting as a coach and primary reviewer of our product visual designs.
  • Be a key contributor to the definition of a design language across all Ingram Micro Xvantage™ platforms, collaborating with external agency design teams.
  • Own the documentation and tools for our design system. Lead discussions with our partners in engineering on how to apply our design language to branded versions of the core Ingram Micro Xvantage™
  • Be a hands-on visual designer for our toughest visual design challenges, while also helping designers on the team to raise their visual design game.
  • Be the expert on visual design trends within the industry. Evangelize and define the path for Ingram Micro to lead the industry in the creativity and quality of our design.

What you bring to the role:

 

  • A Bachelor's degree in or related to design, UX, UI, graphic design, product development, digital marketing, human computer interaction, or other disciplines. MBA or master’s degree is a plus.
  • 12+ years of visual design experience with proven ability to translate business and user problems into understandable solutions.
  • Experience leading the design and delivery of a Design System
  • Demonstrated understanding of user-centered design skills, trends, and disciplines as well as high attention to detail
  • Expert knowledge of design tools like Figma/Illustrator and ability to work across multiple levels of fidelity.
  • Experience working with Agile and/or Lean UX environments.
  • Strong business acumen with well-rounded presentation skills and verbal and written communication
  • Strong portfolio displaying world-class design work showing how you were able to get clarity where there was ambiguity.

 

Nice to have:

 

  • Experience working on complex, B2B SaaS products.
  • Experience with hands-on web Development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React)
  • Experience working in complex team.
  • Illustration skills or experience with creating animations using tools such as Aftereffects.

 

Position may require occasional travel.

The typical base pay range for this role in Irvine, California is USD $116,600 - $157,400 - $198,200 per year. The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate’s primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.

At Ingram Micro certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus or sales incentives and long-term incentives. These awards are allocated based on position level and individual performance.
