Marketing Events Planner

You will……

Be responsible for creating experiences and bringing visions to life, as our event planner you will be adept at juggling many tasks. Scouting locations, soliciting bids, managing vendor relationships and client communications.  Organising and assist in the planning of a wide variety of events such as business conferences, trade shows and partnership events.   Working as part of our in-house marketing team you will also assist in planning and activation of marketing campaigns for our cloud business to increase brand awareness where required.

You will……

• Understand the requirements and objectives for all events and come up with innovative ideas
• Establish and agree upon important parameters, such as budgets and timeframes
• Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations 
• Research suppliers and contractors and negotiate favourable deals
• Provide management with regular updates on all events
• Coordinate activities on the day of an event and implement back-up plans when necessary
• Create post-event evaluations and document findings 
• Attend functions to network and identify potential opportunities

• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
• The ability to perform well under pressure and remain calm in crisis situations
• The ability to multitask, as the job often requires dealing with multiple parties and tasks concurrently
• Attention to detail to ensure that every aspect of an event is perfect
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on their feet when unexpected events occur
• Strong negotiation skills to effectively deal with suppliers and contractors
• Excellent interpersonal skills, as the job constantly involves working with people
• Preferably experience of working in the IT industry
• Knowledge of direct marketing and marketing communications
• Ideally a marketing element of degree or post graduate qualification, or degree or equivalent in a business-related subject
