Job Summary,

We are looking for a knowledgeable and customer-focused Pre-Sales Engineer specializing in Storage and Backup Solutions. This role will support our sales team by providing technical expertise, creating tailored storage and backup solutions for clients, and demonstrating the value of our offerings. The ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge of storage and backup technologies, excellent presentation skills, and a strong ability to understand client needs and translate them into effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1.Solution Design and Proposal Development

Work closely with the sales team to understand client requirements and design customized storage and backup solutions that meet their technical and business needs.

Develop and present technical proposals, solution architectures, and product demonstrations that showcase the capabilities and value of our storage and backup products.

Create technical documents, presentations, and proposals to support sales initiatives and clarify solution benefits for clients.

2. Customer Engagement and Support

Conduct needs assessments with prospective clients, gathering information on their current storage environments, backup needs, and future objectives.

Provide in-depth technical explanations and guidance on storage and backup solutions, addressing customer questions and concerns throughout the sales cycle.

Act as the primary technical liaison for clients, guiding them through solution evaluations, pilot programs, and proof-of-concept (POC) stages.

3. Product Demonstrations and Presentations

Conduct live product demonstrations and presentations that highlight the features, advantages, and benefits of our storage and backup solutions.

Tailor presentations to various audiences, from IT managers to C-level executives, clearly explaining technical aspects and business value.

Use client data and scenarios to create impactful demonstrations that address specific customer pain points.

4. Collaboration with Sales and Technical Teams

Collaborate with account executives, product managers, and engineering teams to ensure proposed solutions align with product capabilities and client expectations.

Provide feedback to the product management and engineering teams on customer needs, feature requests, and competitive trends.

Assist in refining sales strategies by sharing technical insights, competitive analysis, and product positioning recommendations.

6. Technical Training and Enablement

Train internal sales teams on storage and backup technologies, product features, and competitive positioning.

Develop technical sales collateral, solution templates, and tools to support sales efforts.

Mentor and support less experienced team members on solution design, product knowledge, and presentation skills.

Expertise in storage and backup solutions, including SAN, NAS, DAS, and cloud storage technologies.

Strong knowledge of backup software (e.g., Veeam, Veritas NetBackup, CommVault) and storage management tools.

Proven track record in solution design, proposal writing, and product demonstration.

Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.

Relevant certifications such as EMC, NetApp, or CompTIA Storage+ are advantageous.

Preferred Skills

Proficiency in virtualization, cloud storage platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and disaster recovery planning.

Ability to develop and deliver customer-focused presentations and product demonstrations.

Familiarity with scripting for proof-of-concept setup and automation.

Work Environment

This role will involve travel to client sites as needed for meetings, presentations, and demonstrations. Candidates should be comfortable in dynamic, fast-paced sales environments and capable of building strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal teams.
