The goal of a Technical Account Manager (TAM) is to educate and expand the relationship between their vendor and customers. Expansion of a relationship with a vendor/customer or even education can take place in many ways. Demonstrate proficient and competent product knowledge relative to the customer’s needs and environment. Expanding the portfolios of existing resellers and educating new resellers. Maintaining relationships with focus partners and demoing products/maintaining a product lab or even designing solutions to meet specific needs. 

Position Summary:

  • Typical pre-sales activities include gaining an understanding of the customer's business and analysis of the customer's system and product needs.
  • Provides primarily pre-sales technical support for the development and implementation of complex products/applications/solutions
  • Works independently with limited supervision.
  • May manager projects/processes.
  • Coaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals.
  • Problems faced are difficult and often complex.
  • Influences others regarding policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Provides solutions to a variety of complex technical and business matters.
  • Will champion significant projects, programs, and business initiatives using demonstrated creativity and ingenuity. May assist more junior staff members with aspects of their job.
  • Incumbents provide a leadership role for the work group being SME in a specialized area. 
  • Generally free to determine work priorities based on general direction from managers.
  • Specialist in technical or business skills. Individuals with a customer focus have developed the acumen to cultivate and develop lasting customer relations.
  • May be called on-site to assist in complex technical solutions.
  • Creates tests, tools, and diagnostic procedures for use by product support personnel. May quality check technical product documentation.

Qualifications: 

  • A four-year college degree (or additional experience in a related field) and 3 years of functional experience including a minimum 1-year position-specific experience.
  • Please be prepared to pass a drug test and successfully pass a pre-employment (post-offer) background check that includes verification of vaccination status.

 

Technical Account Manager Scope 

  • Open to considering an associate who is able to work 2 days per week out of one of our Ingram Locations: Buffalo, NY; Greer, SC; Scottsdale, AZ
  • Salaried position ($55k - 65k, based on experience, +10% bonus annual bonus)
