*This position is in the Irvine, California corporate headquarters and has the opportunity for hybrid work with up to three days remote per week.  

 

Your role:

The Sr. Developer will use their functional expertise and technical knowledge to help develop data products, systems, platforms, and solutions.

The Sr. Developer will play an architect role in designing, developing, and deploying data systems and solutions which are global, integrated, scalable, and flexible and follow industry best practices to improve in-house capabilities. As such, the position must possess complete development life cycle (SDLC) experience from business requirements definition, design, build, test, train, and deployment to end user support.


The Sr. Developer is responsible collection and assessment of business requirements; identification of technical specifications and the viable subsequent development of technology solutions; envision and prove the feasibility of a design; guide a solution through to its completion; and ultimately implement and support a solution in production.

 

  • Lead development team members to define requirements, design the functional solution, identify, and resolve projects issues. Architect, design and build data products, systems and solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Be able to define the product/solution architecture vision and ensure alignment with the business’ goals, while ensuring that any technical risks are clearly defined and understood and have experience providing advice and guidance on technical approaches and solutions.
  • Lead in process flow analysis and process redesign, formulate and recommend standards for achieving maximum performance and efficiency and share best practices and be consultative to clients throughout duration of the project.
  • Work closely with manager to develop data roadmap and to ensure prioritization of departmental objectives and projects.
  • Lead in functional testing and user acceptance testing as defined in requirements.
  • Oversees data products, systems and solutions deployment and maintenance in production environments.
  • Coordinate across functional teams to identify dependencies, cross team issues and potential risks as well as formulate end-to-end solution opportunities and reference models.

What you bring to the role:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative discipline (Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science) and 7+ years relevant experience OR Master’s degree with 4+ years’ experience required.
  • Experience in analysis of large data sets, identifying trends and patterns, and effectively communicating insights both internally and externally
  • Experience with query languages and leveraging cloud-based computing services are used for data analysis
  • Ability to develop semantic data models from raw data for users to consume complex insights from self-service tools, visualizations, and API integrations 
  • Outstanding data manipulation and presentation skills in cloud and on-prem technologies including Looker, PowerBI, Microstrategy
  • Ability to write complex queries involving combining data from disparate sources and develop stored procedures, triggers, user defined functions in cloud-based technologies including Big Query and Redshift
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming foundations.
  • Knowledge of IaaS, PaaS or SaaS Cloud services such as GCP (preferred).
  • Expert level skills in Excel and other MS Office tools.
  • Agile project experience with proven ability to prioritize and manage time.
  • Demonstrated success with strategic analytical projects, working with various stakeholders across the business areas.
  • Demonstrated ability managing deadlines, workload, and multiple complex projects.
