We are hiring an  Operations Manager to join us in our within our ½ million square foot Distribution Warehouse Facility based in the Brittania & Hurontario area.

The Operations Manager will report to our Senior Operations Manager, Canada and will have a number of supervisor and Team lead direct reports. Proven leadership skills are essential for success in this opportunity.

Hours of work will be coupled with flexibility for peak times and peak seasons.  

The role will work closely with our internal/external stakeholders along with suppliers to identify opportunities to reduce cost and improve performance across our warehouse and transport operations. The role will also be responsible for the ongoing performance of the team, ensuring that service levels are maintained, that relevant safety processes and procedures are in place, and that Operational productivity opportunities are identified. 

  • Review and optimize the distribution and 3rdparty logistics operations, including technical services to ensure business profitability
  • Ensure the effectiveness of operating procedures, space utilization, and maintenance and protection of facilities and equipment
  • Work closely with various parts of the business around the planning and implementation of key supplier projects such as Product Launches, new customer/vendor onboarding, and seasonal spikes in volumes
  • Enable the functional areas to meet relevant OPEX, Freight targets, and budgets

 

This opportunity will focus on all functions of the distribution chain such as

 

  • Responsible for the productivity, efficiency and overall operations performance of our Advanced Logistics center in Mississauga
  • Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen activities
  • Develop strong relationships with Operations Management, Sales, and Vendor Management Team
  • Develop a strong understanding of the business and industry and be able to identify and proactively manage potential risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain and oversee strategies and programs that drive operational efficiencies and process improvements to support standardization across all facilities.
    Implement and monitor operational measures and KPI’s and track KPIs to improve safety, quality, order fill, on-time deliveries
  • Directs and prioritizes workflow and maintains manpower to meet order volume and capacity requirements. Ensures individual and team production goals are met, maintains reports, and provides analysis of performance. Provides support and coaching of associates as they advance in Path To Success. 
  • Ensures frequent communication with the team by conducting daily huddles. Maintains reports and completes assigned projects in a timely manner. 
  • Ensuring that we are upholding all associates to Ingram Micro's Health & Safety standard

    Requirements:

    Education: 
    Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred. 

    Experience

    Minimum 5 years functional experience with at least 4 years in a leadership role in Warehouse and Transport Operations

  • Prior experience in managing professionals who exercise latitude and independence in assignments
  • Friendly, professional and can maintain positive working relationships with a high level of confidentiality
  • Keen sense of customer needs and can anticipate requirements
  • Experience in people management, non-union preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a sense of urgency and decisiveness
  • Expertise in warehouse and transport management procedures and best practices
  • Proven ability to implement Continuous Improvement initiatives

Forklift License or experience with Reach, Order Selector, Double Walkie would all be an assets


Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) is preferred. 

Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, and crouch. 
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
