Ingram Micro is seeking Summer Intern – Art Director and a Summer Intern - Digital Designer to join us in June for our 10-week PAID Summer Internship Program! We are looking for ambitious college and university students who are ready to expand their skills and apply them to meaningful work with a global organization.  

Location: These roles will be based in our Irvine, California office. The intern who fill these roles must be able to work out of this office for a minimum of 2 days per week, with the opportunity for hybrid work. 

Program Details

We have internships available across our various departments and locations throughout the U.S. including Irvine, CA, Buffalo, NY, Fort Worth, TX, Joliet, IL, and Carol Stream, IL.  Unless otherwise noted – all internships are on a hybrid format at the designated office listed in the job description, and are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Our program includes cohort activities such as learning & development trainings, executive speaker sessions, group projects, and other events.

Important Dates

  • March – May: Recruiters and hiring managers will review applications, as well as reach out to candidates and make offers on a rolling basis, with a goal of filling all roles by May
  • June 5th – August 11th: First cohort start & end date (for semester system students who start summer break earlier)
  • June 19th – August 25th: Second cohort start & end date (for quarter system students who start summer break later)

Responsibilities of your role: 

These roles will support our Creative Services team, who is the creative arm of Agency Ingram Micro, helping clients grow their business in ways they haven’t even imagined yet. We concentrate on branding and advertising, content and digital marketing, and event creative.

These roles will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with copywriters, web designers, art directors and other agency associates on campaigns and projects
  • Generating original design ideas and pitching them as required
  • Attending briefing and scoping meetings to understand project requirements, brand guidelines, strategy and target audience
  • Adapting branding materials and stock images for use in in campaigns and projects

Knowledge, skills, and/or abilities you need to have:

  • Actively enrolled in an accredited college/university program, or recently graduated (within the last semester or quarter) from an accredited college/university program.
  • Strong academic record with a cumulative overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • A highly creative mindset — you’re eager to soar!
  • Passion for Art Direction or Design
  • A portfolio showcasing your creative work
  • Ability to take direction and constructive feedback
  • Understanding of web, social, and traditional media

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $20-25/hour.

The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate’s primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.

Please be prepared to pass a drug test and successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check that includes verification of vaccination status.
