SCOPE & PURPOSE OF ROLE: 

·       Working within a busy Operation environment based in Enfield, you will manage all elements of the engineering functions.

·       Responsible for Process Engineering, including costings, process design, and implementation of short and long term activities.

·       Support and improvement of existing operational processes.

·       Support to customers on Engineering change, Projects/reworks and technical enquiries.

·       Establish excellent working relationships and partnerships, with operational staff, Operations Managers, Operations OPLs, Account Managers, Customer Services Team and IT.

·       Understand a Quality environment of ISO accreditation and lead the direct team.

·       Control of Enfield purchasing function.

·       Provide specific invoicing data for various projects, purchases or workstreams.

 

 

 

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

Processes

·       Directing a small engineering team to develop new or existing processes. To define Work Instructions and timings for new activities.

·       Review existing processes for efficiency and quality improvements.

·       Implement new tests and processes as technologies change – keep abreast of new methodologies.

 

Material Purchasing

·       Control the Enfield Purchasing function.

·       Lead and direct your team to purchase in a cost-effective manner to ensure best value is achieved with 100% stock availability.

·       Plan and control re-order points with the use of the system.

 

Quality Assurance

·       Maintenance and Improvement of the ISO9001 Quality System.

·       Responsible for monitoring and evaluating internal production processes. 

PLANNING

·       Planning the work based on forecasts or previous volumes and known standard times.

·       Work with the Operational teams to ensure resources are trained and available.

·       Optimising resources within process areas in accordance with Lean Principles

·       Setting team objectives, monitoring progress, and coaching for improvement.

IMPLEMENTATION

·       Giving direction and driving performance with regular follow-up on performance against plan, implementing corrective actions in a timely manner

·       Following quality procedures and ensure correct recording

·       Advise Operational teams of all requirements.

·       Pro-actively reviewing the quality of output of each area during the day, and the overall result the following day of special projects

·       Monitoring area performance against client service level agreements and KPI targets during each day, and the overall result the following day.
