About the role

We are seeking a Legal Counsel 5 to 8 years of post-admission experience preferably obtained in a mixture of commercial in-house and private practice environments.

Reporting to the Director and Senior Legal Counsel for ANZ, you will be responsible for advising the Australian and New Zealand businesses, with a broad focus on business transactions and contracts including distribution agreements, logistics contracts, service agreements, and other commercial arrangements.

What you’ll do

  • Draft, negotiate and interpret contracts, licensing and other agreements across Australia and New Zealand
  • Counselling business leaders on risk, deal structuring and negotiation strategy
  • Advising on real estate, employment, industrial, technology, procurement, and intellectual property matters
  • Review, draft and edit marketing, promotional services and other types of agreements and commercial documentation
  • Advise Australian and New Zealand companies on their rights and obligations pursuant to relevant legislation
  • Assist with government and regulatory compliance

What you’ll bring

  • Formal qualification in Law with 5 – 8 years minimum post admission legal experience
  • NSW Solicitors Practicing Certificate
  • Strong experience in commercial transactions and related documentation
  • Ability to work autonomously on critical corporate contracts
  • Experienced commercial lawyer with the ability to support Australian and New Zealand
