About Us

In 2020, Ingram Micro incubated a new division within its organisation focused on emerging and disruptive technologies, with a vision of enabling the delivery of transformational IOT through channel partners. The department currently has three primary areas of focus: the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotic Process Automation (RPA).

Having built the foundations of this new business unit and gained initial traction, Ingram Micro is now looking to recruit an IoT Solutions Support Specialist to assist the IoT team with various technical tasks through all the stages of a project lifecycle. This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to further enhance their technical, organisational, and interpersonal skills while working within a start-up-like environment.

About the Job

You will be joining the technical solutioning team at Ingram Micro. The team comprises of a mixture of technical and business development members. The Solutions Support Specialist will support the IoT team with various pre-sales, project delivery, and post-sales activities.  

As an IOT Solutions Support Specialist you will:

  • Develop a commercial, technical, and practical understanding of the IoT solutions in our portfolio
  • Create & maintain internal guides and documentation for the various IoT solutions
  • Configure and set up devices in Ingram’s IoT Lab
  • Prepare and conduct technical demos (supported by a salesperson)
  • Support the team with creating solution proposals
  • Support pre-staging of IoT devices before they are sent out for deployment
  • Support the team with planning project timelines as well as proactively monitoring its progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action.
  • Provide technical support to existing customers

  • Technical aptitude – ability to learn to configure and set-up technically complex products
  • Organisational – ability to organise, track, and progress, various tasks and processes
  • Comprehension – ability to create and maintain technical documentation
  • Decisiveness – being able to act quickly and adequately if the situation requires it
  • Agile and adaptive – comfortable working in fast-paced environment
  • Communication – ability to interact and influence stakeholders
  • Results oriented – seeing projects through to completion
