Position Summary: Depending on complexity, the Senior Manager, Finance is responsible for a complete workstream for an assigned region and is integral to the performance of workstream team which operates in the business services industry. The Senior Manager, Accounting will hold principal responsibility for the workstream team and will be responsible for driving multiple finance initiatives and actively engaging with other business leaders to meet or exceed targeted business performance metrics. This role may perform one or more of the following duties:
Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence- Direct and/or manage the region’s accounting including the reporting functions
- Establish operational objectives and work plans, and delegate assignments to individual contributors or subordinate managers
- Involved in developing, modifying and executing company policies that affect immediate operations and may also have company-wide effect
- Manage activities of a department(s) through individual contributors or subordinate mangers. Subordinate managers exercise full supervision in terms of costs, methods and staffing
- Review and approve recommendations for financial planning and control. Present relevant information to executive management as needed
- Engage with internal business partners (Sales, Purchasing) in order to optimize performance
- Monitor division, department or business unit’s adherence to approved budgets
- Develop, modify and implement financial systems, financial operational specifications and controls
- Manage the preparation and distribution of periodic financial statements and reports
- Ensure reports and disclosures comply with applicable governmental regulations, professional standards and organizational policies
- Work on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives
- Review and implement strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
- Establish and assure adherence to budget, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements
- Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, countries in the region, and/or customers
- Comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and other internal controls
- Prepares data and participates in Process Business Reviews as assigned by the Group Manager
- Oversee daily activities of team members and provide assistances whenever needed
- Plans and maintains appropriate staffing, delegates and distributes work evenly to ensure smooth process flow for voice and transactional support
- Monitors operational health and makes necessary changes in strategy and direction to meet agreed performance level/outcomes
- Regularly meets with respective support leaders/department and agrees on action plans that will address areas for improvement on tactical/day to day operations
- Continuously builds personal process / industry know-how to be a able to direct the tower effectively
- To be part of the Crisis Management Team (CMT) structure for crisis communication and escalation and business unit recovery.
- Identify the recommended recovery strategies based on the impact level as referenced for critical business processes
- Participate in strategic and operational planning sessions to provide inputs regarding the tower's operations and help Executives set long term strategies, goals and tactical initiatives
People Management - Implements strategies to attract and engage talents within the group assigned towards retention and achievement of organizational goals •
- Develops Supervisors towards agreed performance expectations and handles disciplinary actions where required
- Handles the downward cascade of information that is vital to the performance of associate duties
- Provide recommendations to Director for Finance on assigned group's staffing levels relative to workload and capacity forecast
- Provides effective performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards, and disciplinary action, with the assistance of HRBPs, when necessary; Ensures that people managers assigned in the group do the same.
- Ensures tower compliance and/or participation in company-wide policies and engagement activities and leads by example
- Handles onboarding and offboarding of direct reports
- Partners with Talent Acquisition team in driving the formulation of job profiles, interviewing, selecting, and attracting talent into the organization (Associates to Supervisor Level); Owns hiring responsibilities for direct reports
- Coaches people managers and Teams assigned to his/her group to achieve organizational success
- Partners with HRBP and Supervisors in developing group specific Succession Plans to ensure continued business success through identification and talent development which will fill critical roles.
Business Improvement & Growth Initiatives
- Leads approved projects that drive efficiency gains, eliminate waste and loses
- Looks for and pursues opportunities to improve and grow operational outcomes and service footprint
- Proposes business solutions that will aid in the achievement of country goals
- Recommend policies, procedures, systems and innovations relevant to the goals of the organization and country requirements
Stakeholder Relationship - Acts as 2nd level point of contact for all escalations
- Handles senior executive visibility escalations (3rd level escalation point of contact)
- Builds a strong business network of country partners
- Provides timely updates to country partners regarding the GBS organization
- Gathers country insights (feedback and direction) and integrates them with GBS direction
Reporting & Administrative - Attends leadership meetings and makes positive contribution to achieve desired meeting outcomes
- Generates required reports on performance, business update, HC, etc. as required by the Group Manager
- Handles requests from direct reports (Finance, Facilities, Purchasing, etc.)
- Handles upward cascade of information that is vital to the business
QUALIFICATIONS:- Requires a Bachelors degree in Finance, Business or Accounting.
- CPA or Master’s degree, preferred but not required
- Minimum of 8 years in managerial experience, preferably managing through subordinate managers in a Global Business Services, Shared Services or captive BPO industry.
- Must have a strong business acumen along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with stakeholders and internal/external partners.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools
- Analytical mindset (data literacy and data storytelling) with the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Experience with Hyperion Essbase, Impulse or SAP preferred, but not required
- Must be able to obtain the appropriate Visas and travel on an occasional basis
- This role is for nightshift to support the North America business
