The Professional, Accounting plays a crucial role in managing an organization's financial transactions, ensuring accurate recording, reconciliation, and reporting of cash-related activities. This position involves meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. The role also collaborates with various departments and financial stakeholders to maintain the integrity of the company's cash flow and financial statements. This is also pivotal in maintaining an accurate financial picture of an organization's cash position, enabling effective decision-making and financial management.
Cash Recording and Reconciliation:
- Record daily cash transactions accurately in the accounting system.
- Reconcile cash balances regularly with bank statements, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Ensure proper classification of cash transactions, such as receipts, disbursements, and transfers.
Bank Account Management:
- Monitor bank account balances and activity to ensure sufficient funds for operational needs.
- Initiate fund transfers between accounts as required and follow appropriate authorization procedures.
- Coordinate with the treasury department for cash positioning and forecasting.
Cash Flow Analysis:
- Prepare cash flow statements, forecasting cash inflows and outflows to support financial planning.
- Analyze variances between actual and projected cash flows and provide explanations for discrepancies.
- Assist in preparing financial statements related to cash accounts for internal and external reporting.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Audit and Compliance:
- Assist auditors during internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in cash management and accounting procedures.
- Propose and implement changes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
- Coordinate with accounts receivable and accounts payable teams to ensure accurate recording and application of cash transactions.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to cash transactions.
- Maintain organized and accurate records of cash-related transactions and supporting documentation.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is a plus.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data recording.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience in cash accounting or related roles is preferred.
- Role is for nightshift and hybrid work set-up.
