What You’ll Do:

We are currently looking to appoint Senior Legal Counsel who will be responsible for managing and executing the workflow of legal affairs of the Australian and New Zealand businesses, with a broad focus on business transactions and contracts. Legal support is provided to both AU and NZ businesses from Rosebery.

  • Act as legal counsel to the Australian and New Zealand organization and ensure it is informed of new or proposed legislation 
  • Advise the Australian and New Zealand organisation on its legal rights and obligations and in particular highlighting the legal risk exposure of different and varied transactions with diverse business units.
  • Manage and mentor junior legal personnel in Rosebery and in any remote shared services centre, working for the AU/NZ business.
  • Participate in Executive Leadership Team meetings from time to time and work in conjunction with  the CCE.
  • Counsel and advise senior management of Aust and NZ on the legal aspects of activities the business currently undertakes or may in the future undertake.
  • Draft or review and advise upon contracts of varying types, leases, distribution, licensing and loan agreements, securities and other commercial arrangements to safeguard the organisation’s interests and conduct negotiations of same.
  • Render support to the APAC VP Legal and/or corporate HQ in the area of vendor contracts, sales agreement and other ad hoc projects or reports, upon request of the APAC VP Legal.
  • Carrying out the company secretarial function, including completing and lodging regulatory filings with the corporate regulator.
  • Work with the credit team regarding collection issues and external debt collection provider matters.




What you’ll bring:

  • Formal qualification in Law recognized for admission in NSW plus 10 years minimum practical experience in a legal function
  • Leadership experience Required
  • Financial and Commercial acumen
  • Current holder of a NSW solicitors practising certificate
  • Problem Solving and innovation in devising legal solutions
  • Managing and prioritizing high workload in conjunction with the CCE
  • Persuasive and concise written and oral communication skills
  • Highly developed negotiation and writing skills
