L & D, Employee Engagement & Communications Officer

LOCATION:

Norwich (but working across all UK sites)

REPORTING TO:

UK HR Manager

DIRECT REPORTS:

None

LIASON WITH:

UK HR team, Site Directors and Senior Management Team, EMEA HR team, EMEA Learning & Development Team.

JOB PURPOSE:

·         To work with and support the UK HR Manager, in delivering a refreshed approach to driving behavioural & cultural change through training, coaching, mentoring and championing alternative approaches to senior stakeholders across the business.

·         To support the business by driving improvements in employee engagement across all UK Ingram Micro CLS Sites to improve employee relations and create a positive environment for business improvement and change.

·         To lead and deliver Ingram Micro trainings which are appropriate to CLS, to shape how we engage better with our associates and consistently reinforce Ingram Micro’s culture and values.

·         Provide communications and engagement guidance to senior internal stakeholders, overseeing our business as usual internal communications and engagement forums.

PRINCIPAL TASKS OF JOB / CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         To engage with our EMEA L&D colleagues to share best practice & implement learning initiatives to develop agile solutions that deliver outstanding results for both our associates and the business and adds value to the bottom line.

·         Through engaging with all associates, identify and understand where the behavioural and cultural gaps are and bring solutions to the table on how we better address the training and development needs of all associates to address the gaps.

·         To create training concepts for the long term (next year) and short term (current year) based on business and associates needs for both the long term.

·         Co-ordinate and assess corporate Ingram Micro training, such as Purposeful Leadership, and create and deliver people leadership and development training at all levels across all UK CLS sites to:

·         Directors

·         Management

·         Operational Line Management Teams

·         Deliver internal training to Line Managers at all levels, enabling them to discuss their team’s development (both individually and collectively), and setting clear expectations based on job description and goals.

·         Design and maintain an effective employee engagement framework to support the goals and vision of our People Strategy and Operating Plan.

·         Monitor employee engagement through Employee Surveys and design interventions that support teams across the business to meet engagement targets.

·         Introduce and deliver innovative and best practice solutions to continually increase employee engagement, taking into consideration the needs of all parts of the business.

·         Evaluate and monitor learning outcomes to identify the effectiveness of training and development courses undertaken by associates.

·         Work collaboratively with the HR team to analyse onboarding and exit data, recommending and leading on intervention to address retention issues.

·         Support the induction and onboarding of new starters by implementing the re-designed Induction Programme and assisting in the delivery of all induction days, and by deploying effective coaching and motivational skills ensure the associate’s development journey through the business is successful and in line with Ingram Micro’s culture and values.

·         Work with the Management team to engage our diverse workforce, celebrate success and recognise and thank our colleagues.

·         Manage and develop employee relations, working with the members of Staff Forums and playing an active role in consultations to achieve business improvement.

·         Support Managers and colleagues through change initiatives including new Ways of Working, to ensure the concerns of associates are addressed and they feel fully supported.

·         Oversee the Employee Well-Being Program.

·         Devise and implement new internal communications best practice guidelines that can be understood and followed across the organisation, allowing a consistent approach to local communications delivery.

·         As a key part of the Communications Senior team, lead on cross departmental and organisational initiatives including talent management.

·         To communicate and engage with associates to drive the implementation of a “self-service learning strategy” through the Linked-In Learning programme, developing a programme of E-learning modules to encourage individuals to actively participate in their own self-learning and development.

Other:

·         To ensure compliance with all Ingram Micro’s policies and procedures.

·         Attend training and to develop own knowledge and skills.

·         To ensure personal and team compliance of the H&S requirements, in accordance with guidelines as set out in the H&S manual.

·         Fully comply with all company security procedures and general housekeeping rules.

·         To have an extensive knowledge base within the learning and development framework.

·         Experience of communicating through times of complex organisational change.

·         Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Power Point and Excel.
