PRINCIPAL TASKS OF JOB / CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:Directly manage the team of operatives throughout the day to achieve their individual and collective goals regarding efficiency, volume output, and quality.
Working within the UK business and reporting to the Site Director you will take overall management responsibility for the specified operational area. The role involves Managing a team of people to deliver a world class levels of service delivery to our customers. Strong people management and team development skills are a must, together with a dedication to drive the business forwards, maximising productivity to ensure targets are met within the fast-paced environment.
Using your exceptionally strong people management skills, you will drive performance to achieve the required output against customer KPI’s and production plans. You’ll be shop floor based, managing and motivating your team at the level of the individual, with the view of building a strong team to achieve and maintain productivity goals, in a non-automated, highly people focused production process.
Crewing is important. You’ll crew the line to ensure the staffing levels and volumes are aligned, adjusting accordingly on a daily basis as required.
A mature and controlled approach to business and a passion to lead a substantially sized team are a must. You will execute on operational improvements required to deliver the targeted operational and financial outcome.
You’ll report daily to the site director on the important key measures for your line. These will include individual productivity levels per person against goals, attendance, quality and output. You’ll also report on volumes, Revenues, GP, and GP per unit, together with overall work in progress, ageing and other metrics. Using these measures, you’ll drive the team forward, addressing and removing barriers to world class performance levels which our customer expect, and delivering the client KPIs we are contracted to deliver. You will be PL accountable for your line.
A team orientated approach is very much adopted throughout Ingram Micro and as such excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Effectiveness will be measured in terms of actual business service metrics, both financial and operational, together with personality traits that help Ingram Micro as a whole.
