Job Description: Lean Leader Location: Various (TBD) Reporting to: Country Operations Head. The company is looking for high potential talent that can be focused on value creation, and building a culture of problem solving and continuous improvement. • This role is responsible for leading, promoting and facilitating the successful implementation and execution of the Lean Operating System, including Kaizen, within Distribution/Logistics operations. • This position will partner with Site operations and other functional leadership, and key customers, to drive sustained continuous improvement results and to create a culture of continuous improvement. The position provides updates and feedback on the progress for various lean initiatives into the site leadership, and to country/business unit leadership team as well as the global Lean team on a regular basis. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Drive continuously improving results by leveraging Lean principles, practices and tools, consulting skills, and change management processes • Assist country/business unit leadership in the development of a Lean transformation hopper and schedules with planned resource allocations • Directly provide formal and informal Lean training and capability building • Promote and facilitate associate development in various Lean tools, lean operations, and kaizen leadership • Ensure productive kaizen events through leading and coaching teams • Implement operational balanced scorecard (safety, quality, delivery and productivity) metrics for the designated operations scope • Promote and facilitate diagnosis of work flow impediments and other wastes throughout the business, and provide subject matter expertise on appropriate tools to eliminate them • Improve Lean body of knowledge, training and facilitation skills by pursuing continual Lean learning • Actively participate in the Lean Leader global community to benchmark and incorporate best practices • This role will generate a significant multiple of invested cost in terms of value creation (expected 5-8x). EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: • Academic undergraduate degree is required, preferably in Industrial Engineering or equivalent. MBA a plus. • Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a “operations manager’s” point of view • Knowledge and experience with design, development, and implementation of a Lean roadmap for an operating business • Minimum 2 years of experience in implementing Lean transformations in transactional or logistics operations • Consultative approach and experience with change management • Strong communication and influencing skills and the ability to work successfully with all levels of the organization. • Excellent problem solving and strong training and facilitation skills • Good time and project management skills • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment • Good writing and administrative skills, including MS office skills • Highly self-motivated, enthusiastic and ability to create followership • Lives the “continuous improvement” philosophy and can drive change successfully • Logical and creative thinker • Constantly challenges others to strive for improvement Lean Leader / rev 02 / 161004 / AN 2/2 • Strong result orientation - has track record for delivering results, takes ownership & is accountable • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 50%, depending on scope) KEY COMPETENCIES: • Customer Mindset top of mind o Customer focus • Team Leadership o Drives engagement o Instills trust • Change agent o Nimble learning o Being resilient o Manages ambiguity • Collaboration & Influence o Interpersonal savvy o Collaborates o Builds networks • Results oriented o Action oriented o Drives results • Judgment & Decision Making o Financial acumen • Strategic & Global Mindset o Optimizes work processesGet updates about the latest job openings
