Repair Engineer

Our Repairs team is responsible for the assessment of equipment failure to determine appropriate actions in order to maintain electronic hardware and peripherals device operation. The role will bring about significant technical challenges on a day to day basis involving component level fault finding. Repair and testing of a very wide range of electronic equipment, this will include detailed component repairs including, but not limited to, PCB repairs and power supplies with precision soldering, installing software programs and updates, including firmware updates.

Responsibilities:

  • Fault diagnosis across a varied vendor platform
  • Component level repair, including precision soldering, surface mount/BGA
  • Image deployment to Laptops/Desktops
  • Repair documentation

Salary: £20,000-25,000
Location: Comms-care HQ, Northwich, CW9 7UA
Hours: Mon – Fri, 9-5:30

The Person:
You will have a solid background in electronic repairs and fault diagnosis, with a willingness to undertake study to enable the repair of legacy and future technologies.

You will have:

  • Worked with switch mode power supplies and working knowledge of computer architecture.
  • Experience in using soldering equipment including surface mount /BGA.
  • Experience using a multimeter and oscilloscope required.
  • Qualifications such as BTEC or City and Guilds in line with this experience preferred but not essential.
  • Any Cisco or Microsoft qualifications would be a bonus e.g. CCNA/CCNP MCSE or equivalent
