The Senior Manager, Accounting position serves a player and coach for the general accounting and billing team in the Reverse Logistics business unit as part of the Ingram Micro Commerce & Lifecycle Services – Technology Division. You will be responsible for maintaining accounts and records in various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and in accordance with US GAAP, collecting and analyzing financial data and preparing reports and recommendations. You will review, verify and approve transactions and journal entries. You and your team will codes, enter, and prepare invoices, and respond to customer and vendor inquiries.  Additionally, you will maintain records and files and generate related reports, ensuring all procedures and internal controls are followed in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures compliance with statutory requirements and Corporate-wide control requirements including Sarbanes-Oxley legislation, control self-assessments, key control documentation, liaison with audit and corporate personnel on matters of internal control
  • Accountable for quantitative and qualitative analysis of actual and projected results; internal control and financial policy compliance
  • Ensures consistency and quality of reporting and compliance with Corporate reporting and financial policy requirements
  • Provides accurate and timely reporting of results and develops appropriate reporting tools for the further assessment of business performance
  • Responsible for monthly financial closing and the provision of all related financial reporting for the subsidiary in accordance with GAAP
  • Provides financial expertise and support on all operational, sales growth, and strategic initiatives
  • Oversee and develop a high-performing team, investing in others to help them grow, creating a positive working environment, and collaborating cross-functionally
  • Use broad business acumen and challenge financial assumptions to advise senior management on strategic initiatives and to ensure sound business decisions
  • Ensure transactions correctly reflect the legal / tax structure of our various domestic and international subsidiaries
  • Ensure revenue accounting policies are documented and applied consistently
  • Ensure review and compliance with ASC 606 requirements, significant financing, material rights, and other revenue estimates
  • Key contact with external auditors to review accounting assessments and to manage quarterly reviews and annual audits
  • Participate in special projects as required

Required Education/Experience:

  • A four year college degree (or additional relevant experience in a related field)
  • Minimum of a 4 year degree and 8 years functional experience including a minimum of 5 years position specific experience (financial reporting and analysis in the private sector or comparable public accounting experience including supervisory experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience
  • Extensive US GAAP technical revenue accounting background in a multi-element environment
  • Extensive knowledge of ASC 606, especially under multiple performance obligations and software revenue recognition
  • Strong knowledge of SOX requirements, including the ability to assess, develop and implement internal controls related to revenue and deferred revenue
  • Mastery over subject area, ability to make significant contributions to the company

  • Occasional travel (less than 5%)
