Assistant Accountant

We are ideally looking for an experienced Part Qualified CIMA Accounts Assistant to join our expanding Finance team. The successful candidate will join a team to support the Management Accountant and wider finance team with a number of duties. Study support may be provided for the right candidate to develop their experience and knowledge.

Location: Initially remote based until Covid Restrictions are lifted
Office: Lostock Gralam, Northwich, CW9 7UA (Flexibility to work from home up to 2 days per week post Covid Restrictions)

Salary: Competitive + Benefits + study support if applicable.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am-5:30pm (Flexibility to work from home up to 2 days per week)

Include but not confined to:

  • Monthly commission reporting
  • Control account reconciliations
  • Cost centre reports
  • Support Management & Commercial Accountant
  • Preparing invoices on Excel ready to import into SAGE
  • Uploading purchase ledger invoices from bespoke system onto SAGE ensuring that SAGE is reconciled each time
  • Coding POs raised correctly ready to import into SAGE
  • Cash book – update and post into SAGE – both payments and receipts in multi currencies
  • Analysing credit card spend & enter in SAGE
  • Creating monthly payment list for purchase ledger
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Various reports using Excel including monthly management reports
  • Managing workload and monitoring Outlook Inbox
  • Assisting credit control team with any reports when needed

The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experiences:

  • Excellent knowledge of Excel including: V lookup, SumIF, Pivot Tables & formulas.
  • PC Literate including Microsoft Office
  • Confidence in handling and manipulating large amounts of data in Excel
  • Experience in Sage Line 50
  • The attitude and ability to meet challenging deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • An enthusiastic, positive and 'can do' approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to rapid change
  • Ability to prioritise workload effectively
