Job Overview:

Global Vendor partnerships and strategies are an important component of our overall success and value in the Channel. This role is in place to ensure we have intentional and capable coverage for several of our most strategic global vendor relationships. This leader will be responsible for the overall global strategy of DELL and VMware within Ingram Micro, as well as any associated global investments and plans related to key technologies and business initiatives (Services, Operations, Marketing, budgets). 

As a global leader, this role will be responsible to collaborate with our various Executives and line of business team members in different countries and at all levels within Ingram Micro. This role also serves as the primary lead and coordination point for Ingram Micro to the WW teams at the vendor. This role will have ultimate responsibility for our growth and performance, as well as ongoing progress with our stated strategic imperatives throughout the year.  

Recognized both within and outside the organization as thought leader in area of expertise. The Global Vendor leader will recommend operational strategies and plans with direct impact on results. Influence’s business decisions made by leadership. Problems are often complex.

Job Overview:

  • Work as a liaison between vendors and organization by providing specialized consultative service and implementing, driving and maintaining vendor programs. Also assisting with marketing and training.
  • Review and negotiate terms of vendor contracts and communicate with vendors regarding day-to-day matters
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and monitor vendor performance
  • Research invoice and contractual issues and resolve discrepancies. 


  • Develop solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious by taking a broad and strategic perspective that anticipates internal and/or external business challenges. 
  • This is the highest level of technical strategist comparable to senior level management.
  • Individuals that qualify have decades of specialty technology experience.
  • Provides a future vision of technology and are on the leading edge of research and development for the corporation.


  • Work in a high level of autonomy in a complex environment.
  • Exercises wide latitude in determining objectives and critical assignments.
  • May strategically lead largest multidisciplinary projects/initiatives.
  • Maintains affiliations and relationships with academic and industry technical experts.

Job Requirements:

  • Often are pioneers in the technology associated with company products.
  • Minimum of 12 years of related technical experience if possessing a four-year college degree; or minimum of 8 years related technical experience if possessing an Advanced degree.
  • Demonstrable success in Vendor / Partner / Distribution leadership experience, Leading people (direct or indirect)
  • Typically requires advanced technical and business knowledge in multiple disciplines/technologies/processes.

Strategic Business Planning, Strength in Communication / Messaging / Presenting, Executive Preparation and Guidance, Knowledge and understanding of the Global Landscape (cultures, business practices, trade), Strong Financial acumen, Go to Market strategy and execution, Project Management, Organization and Prioritization, Success in operating in Virtual environments, Demonstrable knowledge of and understanding of key Technologies (Cloud, Datacenter, etc.) and As a Service models

Other Information:
Must have clear understanding of how to approach global business (time zones, cross border relationships, culture). Work hours will generally follow local time zone, however at times there will be calls during alternate hours. Some international travel required once restrictions are lifted.
