Job Title: Business Development Manager

Location: Home Based with travel to the Milton Keynes office as required. Candidate must be UK-based.

Reporting to: Director

 

 

Background

In 2020, Ingram Micro incubated a new division within its organisation focused on the Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT), with a vision of enabling the delivery of disruptive technologies through channel partners. The department currently has three primary areas of focus: the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotic Process Automation (RPA).

 

Having built the foundations of this new business unit and gained initial traction, Ingram Micro is now looking to recruit an ambitious Business Development Manager to extend the offerings and drive growth. This role offers the opportunity of working within a startup-like environment, operating within a successful enterprise.

 

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, versatile and multidisciplinary individual with an aptitude for emerging technology. The role will require exceptional stakeholder management skills - balancing engagement efforts between vendors, resellers (our customers), end-customers, and our internal staff. We are here to enable an entire ecosystem, and the ability to influence stakeholders is at the core of what we do.

 

 

Scope and Purpose

The Business Development Manager is responsible for the overall development and execution of the business within an aligned partner base. This includes the ownership and continued development of relationships with our partners and vendors.

 

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Build and own the engagement plan between IM and reseller partners
  • Build and own the engagement plan between IM and vendors
  • Extend the IM Solutions Portfolio by establishing new partnerships and working with vendors
  • Drive the growth of IM IoT Solutions into the partner base
  • Work with partners and, when required, end-customers to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Contribute to the overall development of the business unit
  • Maintain informed, up-to-date knowledge of relevant markets
  • Maintain informed, up-to-date knowledge of vendor offerings

  • Revenue, front end margin (FEM)

  • Number of end-customer deployments

 

Requirements

  • Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels of an organisation
  • Proven skills to operate in a large matrix business
  • Problem-solving skills, conceptual and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral, written and listening skills
  • Ability to cross sell and across multiple levels
  • Demonstrate initiative to work independently and with teams interchangeably
  • Ability to maximise profitability on any opportunity
  • Having both a technical and commercial background would be advantageous
  • Having a background in 2-tier channel distribution would be advantageous
  • A university degree in a relevant discipline would be favourable
  • Conversant in Technical English
  • Proficient in English (Spoken and Written)
  • Full UK driving license
