SCOPE & PURPOSE:

·       As the UK infrastructure lead reporting into the UK CLS IT Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of the UK CLS IT Infrastructure, ensuring the continuation of all IT services and enabling all business activities to function uninterrupted.

·       Responsible for leading the design, documentation, build, test, implementation, and support of secure, robust, fit for purpose IT technology solutions, within agreed scope and budget that meet or exceed the business requirements and the requirements of Ingram Micro and our customers.

·       Primary contact for site IT Support Teams, IM Global IT infrastructure stakeholders and specialists that provide IT services, supporting the business by resolving operational and customer incidents within agreed SLA’s using a full range of break/fix support, fault tolerance solutions, and disaster recovery across all aspects of hardware and software used by the company.

·       Integration with the Business, priority alignment and clear communication is essential along with responsiveness, rapid secure resolution of issues and establishing a visible IT support presence.

·       Provide the project delivery team with clear delivery tasks and milestones for all IT solutions and ensure the team understands them, clearly communicate progress, log IT time spent and immediately raise any issues regarding delivery commitments.

·       Understanding and following support mechanisms, making contacts, building relationships and cooperation is crucial to facilitating responsive support.

·       Ensure all support, project tracking & IT Time logging systems are kept up to date

·       Become the authority regarding the infrastructure, security and IT systems used to operate the business.

·       A hands-on, common sense approach and strong technical capability delivering decisive results, along with being contactable at all times and responding to missed calls and messages in a timely manner is essential.

·       All business processes operate on a time-bound basis each day, and to tight customer deadlines, so pace, focus, preventative maintenance, monitoring and a “can do” attitude is key to success in the role.

·       Although the core working hours are 8.30 to 5.30, the role requires that the candidate is contactable outside of these hours as site operations and customers use our systems 24 hours in some case. Occasional interventions and attendance on site to resolve issues, as/when they occur, and outside of these core hours is also a requirement.

 

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES (IN SUPPORT OF THE COMPETENCY FRAMEWORK AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENT):

 

·       Infrastructure lead delivering all aspects of IT support

·       Ensuring the continuation and security of all IT services

·       Enable all business activities to function uninterrupted

·       Contactable at all times and responding to missed calls and messages in a timely manner

·       Ensure all support, project tracking & IT Time logging systems are kept up to date

·       Establish a Visible IT support presence, integrate within the Business, align priorities, and communicate clearly

·       Liaison with UK IT Team and specialists that provide IT services

·       Hands on, common sense approach, strong technical capability, delivering decisive results with responsiveness, rapid resolution and a “can do” attitude.

·       Maintenance, resilience, backup and recovery of all IT services.
