Associate Professional, Sales -

With a primary focus of building and maintaining relationships with existing customers, the Associate Professional, Sales. has direct account ownership and is responsible for being the primary point of contact for customers to identify and address complex sales opportunities and resolve account-related transactional issues.

Developed through prospecting and cultivation of customer knowledge and established relationships, the Associate Professional, Sales. identifies and proactively engages in business and sales opportunities to achieve identified sales related objectives.

Identifies and communicates complementary add-on and cross-selling opportunities to partners by leveraging detailed knowledge and understanding of Ingram Micro’s products, programs, and services.

The Associate Professional, Sales. proactively and professionally recommends and sells programs, products and services to customers that meet their objectives while also supporting Ingram Micro promotions and campaigns. Effectively closes sales opportunities with customers in a way that meets company revenue and profit objectives. Generates sales leads for self or field-based sales team members to proactively address and records leads in appropriate pipeline management tools.

The Associate Professional, Sales. is responsible for moderate and complex transactions with speed and accuracy in a fast-paced environment and is capable of managing and resolving the most complex transactional operations and issues. May be assigned to partner with highly strategic (or high revenue) customer accounts and may assist with training and coaching other Sales Representatives.

Designs and executes strategic business plans, establishing and managing through detailed action items to drive profitable revenue growth. A dynamic understanding of pipeline management, and with business acumen, ensure metrics and objectives are obtainable to successfully achieve referenced data. 


High school diploma (or equivalent) and minimum of seven years previous sales/customer service experience (preferably in a related industry) or six years experience with Ingram Micro in a sales or customer service capacity equivalent to a Sales Representative.

OR a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of four years previous sales/customer service experience (preferably in a related industry) or three years experience with Ingram Micro in a sales or customer service capacity equivalent to a Sales Representative.


Knowledge of professional, effective telephone techniques and customer care. Moderate technical and product knowledge. Advanced understanding of Ingram Micro programs, products and services.

Skilled in professional sales and negotiations techniques, building solid customer relationships and operating personal computing. Moderate knowledge of Excel and Word required. Excellent communication skills: written and verbal required. Strong organizational skills and problem-solving agility are also required. Previous ERP system experience desired.

Ability to work as a team member, partner effectively with others, multi-task, respond to rapid change, perform duties with accuracy and with a strong degree of urgency, prioritize and perform work with limited supervision. Able to handle large quantities of information while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
