Serving as an extension of the Vendor, the Market Development Executive is responsible for facilitating strategy sessions and the sale of technical products and/or services with existing and new customers.  The Market Development Executive is responsible for providing specialized consultative service and implementing, driving and maintaining vendor programs, marketing, and training for their designated product/program or category line. The Market Development Executive proactively identifies opportunities and may also be called on as opportunities are identified by customer account owners and works with Ingram Micro sales associates to assist in closing sales in a way that meets the vendor’s and Ingram Micro’s objectives. Maintaining sound knowledge of industry trends and technologies, the Market Development Executive is also called on to leverage their expertise as a technical product expert to develop and present sales proposals and build or position advanced solutions, programs and services to the client. Maintains consistent communication with all regarding key initiatives pertaining to account to further grow profitable business. Known as an expert in their field, the Market Development Executive may act as a lead to manage and coordinate complex customer/vendor requests requiring multiple associates’ attention and assists with training and support for Market Development Specialists.  Travel up to 50% (which may include international travel).

Your role:

  • As the vendor, vertical, or solutions strategist, the Market Development Executive identifies and proactively engages in strategic business opportunities primarily with customers and is accountable for achieving overall revenue/profit/market share objectives through active selling within assigned vendor, vertical and/or solution.
  • Builds and expands strategic relationships with customers and vendors
  • Proactive education, presentations, and selling of programs, products, services, promotions, and campaigns
  • Develops accurate financial (forecasting) and vendor/category plans in concert with BU/Divisional strategies
  • Partners and plans effectively with internal resources to ensure all areas of the sales process execute expectations
  • Identifies and analyzes new growth opportunities for revenue, profit and market share objectives and executes on strategic business plan

What you bring to the role:

Education:

Four-year college degree (or equivalent combination of education and additional relevant experience in a related field). Minimum 5 years functional experience including a minimum of 3 years specific experience. Ability to make significant contribution to processes and systems.

*Position may require travel, up to 50% of the time.

*Associate is to adhere to normal work hours when not traveling.


*Associate is to be on site in an Ingram Micro office when not traveling to events or customers.
