Microsoft Azure Senior Technical Consultant

Due to continued growth we have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Technical Consultant to join the Comms-care consulting practice to act as a Senior Consultant, specialising in Microsoft Azure.

Location: Home based with occasional travel

Responsibilities: 
Principal responsibilities but not limited to the following:

  • Undertake individual consultancy assignments, analysing customer requirements, gathering and analysing data and recommending solutions
  • Lead with qualification of designs and opportunities
  • Lead and present at customer opportunities and workshop sessions
  • Produce and update assignment documentation as required
  • Technically manage the lifecycle of chosen subject matter focussed solutions
  • Act as technical authority and ‘evangelist’ for chosen subject matter
  • Work alongside the architecture team to identify, develop and promote chosen subject matter solutions within our customer base, owning the ongoing solutions portfolio
  • Lead and contribute to Statement of Works and Invitations to Tender
  • Provide a technical governance overlay for active projects
  • Host customer strategy meetings, including presenting solutions from a commercial and business perspective
  • Provide technical mentoring to Technical Consultants and Systems Engineers
  • Build and maintain a strong relationship with the channel partners internal technical team

Experience and Qualifications

As a Technical Lead, you should be considered an expert in the design and deployment of Microsoft Azure focused solutions that encompass the following capabilities:

  • Azure Active Directory (incl. P2 features)
  • Azure Active Directory Connect
  • Azure Foundation/Scaffold/Landing Zone
  • Azure Governance and Compliance
  • Azure IaaS/PaaS/SaaS
  • Azure networking (Virtual networks, Subnets, VPNs, Network Security Groups)
  • High availability, Load Balancing, Application Gateways
  • Identity and authentication, Azure AD Connect
  • Azure Storage
  • Azure Infrastructure-as-Code (ARM, Terraform)
  • Azure Site Recovery/Backup
  • Azure SQL Database
  • Azure DevOps (desireable)
  • Azure Migrate

Desirable Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert: Mobility
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert: Server Infrastructure

Knowledge, Skills and Characteristics

  • Demonstrable experience in a technical consulting type role
  • Excellent communicator both verbally and written
  • Experienced, mature, influential, assertive and diplomatic
  • Able to operate independently or as part of a larger team
  • Able to technically manage other people on large scale projects
  • Able to network with industry peers and customers
  • Industry leading knowledge of chosen subject matter
  • A flexible approach to work and prepared 'go the extra mile' to exceed customer expectations
  • Applies knowledge and skills through handling complex problems beyond own area of expertise
