*This position is in the Irvine, California corporate headquarters and has the opportunity for hybrid work with up to three days remote per week.  

Your role:

This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic SAP Project Manager to join our Global IT SAP team and play a critical role in delivering SAP projects around the globe.

The ideal candidate for this opportunity is someone with strong leadership experience, project management and problem solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple global SAP projects and assist the SAP Program Manager in the delivery of a portfolio of programs/projects in global SAP and a diverse group of people from various geographies, departments and levels of the organization including executive leadership, and uses past experience and good judgment to deliver solutions that add exceptional business value.

This position reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Global SAP Program Management and assist with projects related to the entire Global SAP S4 Program.

The Sr. Project Manager is the primary interface between various business units (or business partners) and the IT teams. They will be responsible for facilitating, prioritizing and communicating functional and technical requirements of large-scale projects to the IS teams. This position must have a thorough understanding of the technology and multi-practice disciplines associated with customer development projects, a working comprehension of the technical components of the Ingram Micro environment, and knowledge of tools and vendors in the marketplace that provide key functionality to similar environments. The Sr. Project Manager is required to coordinate the necessary activities in all areas of IS, as applicable for the successful completion of the assigned project. Management skills include proficient communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of internal and client organizations (customers and vendors) to ensure project success, have a demonstrated ability to weigh alternatives, determine strategy, and experience in leading teams. Must possess thorough knowledge of all related business areas and how they interact. They may have staff responsibilities, limited to the tasks associated with the current project.

What you bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications, Computer Science, Engineering, or related Science and Math discipline with an IT emphasis is required.
  • Preferred: an MBA (or equivalent) from a top-tier institution, or equivalent business experience.
  • PMP Certified or current course work toward certification required.
  • 5+ years of experience desired in project management, with 2+ years of SAP project management.
  • 5+ years of relevant technical project management on multiple large-scale projects. Previously demonstrated the ability to deliver successful business critical and IT initiatives.
  • 3+ years of work experience in ERP related technical project management with preferred experience in global SAP S/4 HANA.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, influence, and drive to results in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong relationship management experience with globally disperse teams, among executives, customers and staff; as well as externally with vendors and business partners as required.
  • Superior communication skills both written and oral. Experience leading large cross-function teams and driving consensus among colleagues; ability to lead, motivate, influence, and drive to results in a highly matrixed environment is essential. Ability to motivate colleagues to peak performance and establish credibility with key decision makers.
  • Complex problem resolution under stress and ability to merge diverse technology agendas into a cohesive, integrated architecture by influencing key technology resources.
  • Strong people leadership capabilities. Ability to develop and grow a project team that is skilled and motivated to deliver against commitments.
  • High performance dedication, including attention to the details that matter, and willingness to work issues to successful closure with strong results orientation driving change in a complex matrix environment.
  • Ability to show independent sound judgment and creative problem-solving techniques in a highly complex environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Visio and Project desired. Additional knowledge and skill specific to the assigned project is required.
  • Exhibit Critical Thinking Skills and Solid Judgement. Strong result driven orientation.
  • Understanding Agile, its framework, methodologies and execution.
  • Identify, track, assess, mitigate issues, risks, at multiple levels of the project / initiative.
  • Good understanding of financial management.
  • Ability to work across multiple international time zones with offshore teams as needed
