Location: 
We are hiring 1 position, located at our corporate headquarters in Irvine, CA. We offer a hyrbid work environment with up to 3 days remote. We are open to reviewing out of state candidates who are open to relocation so the role is posted to several markets.


Purpose:

We are looking for a strong professional interested in working in a dynamic team responsible for strategy development and mergers & acquisitions (M&A) at a global level for Ingram Micro.  Ingram Micro’s Corporate Development and Strategy team works with executives to evaluate & drive growth opportunities through acquisitions, strategic investments, partnerships and divestitures. The Strategy Manager will focus on establishing actionable and agile solutions to address the most challenging issues facing the company.

Our projects focus on key organic and inorganic initiatives that drive meaningful decisions, including top-line growth and operational initiatives. These high-impact, high-visibility projects, will provide successful candidates the opportunity to develop professionally as a leader and influencer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive project-based strategy work end-to-end from problem definition and project scoping to delivery of recommendations to the executive team
  • Enable the planning and execution of the strategic planning process, developing content and collaborating with business partners to develop the long-term vision for the business
  • Lead deep dives into business issues and develop strategic and analytical frameworks to drive growth and performance. Assess business model options and market trends to substantiate long-term business objectives
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and significant influence management skills with the ability to gain credibility with senior leadership while challenging the status quo
  • Build business cases and “Executive ready” project deliverables, generally in presentation or short memo form, articulating recommendations and plans to move forward for Ingram Micro’s global leadership team
  • Maintain an external mindset, including staying on top of business, competitive and macroeconomic/geopolitical trends. Monitor the marketplace to identify and assess key industry trends that can inform Ingram Micro’s strategy and operational plans. Assess strategic opportunities and competitive threats

Qualifications:

Education:  Undergraduate degree in applicable field (technology, finance, strategy) from a top university. MBA and/or CFA considered a plus.

Experience:

  • Required: 3-7 years of professional work experience including 1-3 years working in a Strategy/Management Consulting firm or internal experience on a high performing strategy team preferred

Skills / Technical:

  • Highly analytical, motivated, decisive thought leader with excellent managerial skills
  • Strategic mindset with an ability to think broadly, refine questions, and develop analytical frameworks
  • Outstanding project management skills
  • High emotional intelligence and verbal and written communication skills that educate and influence senior leaders; ability to “manage up”
  • Excel, PowerPoint, Word required. Ability to program ad hoc macros and simulations

Writing / Presentation skills: Skilled in preparing presentations, executive summaries and memos to senior management; possess solid communication skills; comfortable and credible speaking in front of C-level management.

Values / Style: Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively within a flat team structure, able to switch between M&A, strategy development and market analysis mindsets, ability to lead internal and external teams when necessary, willing to challenge status quo, have a can-do attitude, be proactive and take ownership, be comfortable with change in a fast-paced environment, and possess excellent interpersonal skills with all levels.
