Description
The Global Junior Privacy Counsel will play a meaningful role on Ingram Micro’s privacy team. We are looking for a dynamic attorney with a passion for privacy and technology to advise internal clients on privacy issues related to business transactions and new projects. The Global Junior Privacy Counsel is comfortable balancing legal risks and our strategy. You will partner across the company and may be called on to support several areas of the business. You will report to the Chief Data Privacy Officer and work closely with the Global Privacy Counsel.
Responsibilities
- Assist Ingram Micro’s privacy and data protection team with the development, maintenance and enhancement of Ingram Micro’s global privacy program, including preparing and maintaining related documentation
- Manage data protection language in standard contractual agreements and support commercial attorneys in negotiating data protection terms with customers and suppliers
- Partner to implement and improve scalable processes such as cookie consent, privacy by design, and data subject access requests
- Work with IT, engineering and product teams to conduct data privacy impact assessments and to ensure that privacy-by-design is embedded into Ingram Micro’s services and solutions
- Conduct general and role-specific privacy trainings
- Stay informed about, and advise on, regulatory and industry developments, including monitoring trends in privacy and security laws, regulations, and public policy
- Help maintain privacy policies and privacy notices
Requirements
- Undergraduate and law degree
- At least 1-3 years combined technology legal experience in a law firm or in-house legal department
- At least one year of experience working on privacy and data protection matters, including strong knowledge of global privacy laws, including GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, PDPA, etc.
- Comfortable with technology and technical terminology
- A team player and who is willing to take on additional responsibilities
- Work with colleagues across the U.S. and globally
- Privacy certification (e.g., CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPT, CIPM) a plus
- Experience in a corporate transactions role
