Description
Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for the implementation, development and optimization of foreign trade, compliance, and customs processes in EMEA
- Contact person for authorities, external and internal customers as well as support of other Ingram Micro companies in all questions concerning customs and foreign trade, compliance, and legal matters
- Communication and representation of the company to the Customs authorities & export control authorities; responsible (point of contact) for import customs and foreign trade audits by customs & compliance authorities
- Management and leadership of all assigned areas and functions and their employees
- Ensuring service delivery and productivity in the assigned areas
- Initiation, moderation and follow-up of process improvements and preventive measures under economic aspects
- Initiation, management, and supervision of projects affecting the department
- Further development of the assigned areas in terms of personnel and organizational structure
- Establishment, further development, determination and presentation of key performance indicators, management by objectives, balanced score card
- Definition and specification of departmental targets
- Increasing throughput and efficiency in cooperation with all operational areas
- Cooperation with and management of employee representatives (team composition of 10-15 associates)
- Budget responsibility for own cost centers
- Provide European regulatory expertise
- Collaboration with global team for product classification (ECCN/HTS) where needed
- Identify opportunities to streamline with the global order management functions and tools
Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in business or logistics, or equivalent professional training and education)
- At least 8-10 years of experience in a management position in a Senior Customs /Compliance role within a production, trade, freight forwarding or logistics environment (preferably in an international environment)
- Experience in direct contacts with Customs authorities
- Experience in international trade, Inco terms and documentation
- Knowledge of the operational processes at Ingram Micro is an advantage??
- Excellent knowledge in the field of Customs, Compliance, and foreign trade, especially in the IT procedure ATLAS
- Experience with management systems or methods such as CIP, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean Management etc. advantageous
- Experience in disciplinary management of personnel
- Very good knowledge of English (Level C1)
- Good MS Office skills (Outlook etc.)
