Creating a haven for life-long learners and collaborators
When Joelle Sniatenchuck, director of DevSecOps, was looking for her next career opportunity, she knew exactly what she had in mind. From diverse teammates to ample learning opportunities, she saw Ingram Micro as the total package and was immediately committed to making the most of it.
Joelle joined the Ingram Micro team two years ago, taking on the responsibility of overseeing all the security solutions that Ingram Micro brings to market. She immediately loved the atmosphere surrounding the company. “I love the challenge of learning more, learning from others that surround me because I’m surrounded by so many great, really interesting and smart people,” said Joelle. “I’m continuously learning every day, so it’s been fantastic.” And thanks to the support from her team leader, Joelle has had many opportunities to build programs that help keep other vital parts of the business safe from fraud.
The diversity Ingram Micro brings to the table is also something that is revitalizing Joelle from the inside out. “It has been so refreshing and so inspiring for myself and the relationships that I've built since I've joined,” she shared. “For example, within our information security, which is an industry [where] typically maybe 10% are female, our executive team within our CISO organization is 50/50% female/male. We are true representation of truly being diverse."
Aside from professional growth opportunities, Joelle is thriving personally. “Ingram Micro built a women’s mentoring circle program and as an executive I supported and led group mentorship,” noted Joelle. “It was really interesting to be a part of.” Activities like these allow Joelle and other associates to access peers and resources they need to thrive.
In between the everyday learning and professional growth, Joelle still has time to unwind with her colleagues. From office potlucks to holiday parties, the company creates a space where associates can connect with one another on a personal level. “We do potlucks that are cultural potlucks. I'm a foodie, so the food that we get to experience and have is fantastic,” shared Joelle.
Because of her experience, Joelle is not shy about touting Ingram Micro’s positive qualities. The culture encourages associates to explore and expand on their unique skills. “Ingram Micro values transferable skills and what I would say is don't hesitate if you see a position and you believe you could do it.”
