Warehouse Playbook Best Practices
Ingram Micro - ASEAN & HK

Our ESG playbook focuses on Warehouses and Offices, driving energy efficiency and carbon reduction through optimized assets, no- and low-cost improvements, and shared best practices.
Insights from audited sites guide targeted investments and the evaluation of renewable energy options, with RECs and carbon offsets addressing remaining emissions.
Progress is measured through clear energy and carbon KPIs, reinforcing our commitment to continuous improvement—powered by our people.
As part of our ongoing commitment to efficiency and sustainability, here’s a snapshot of how various warehouse in ASEAN & HK conserve energy.
Thailand - Installed Lighting Motion Sensors in Restroom
Installing LED fixtures with motion sensors can reduce electricity use and GHG emissions by 30-60%, depending on office size and occupancy.

Immediate Actions will be Retrofit offices, breakrooms, and restrooms with wall-mounted motion sensors.
Meanwhile, enforce policies to manually turn off lights during the day and have guards switch them off at night or when unoccupied.
Benefits involved facility with 120 fixtures operating at 25% lighting due to motion sensors can achieve significant energy and emissions savings based on a 2-shift schedule.
Hong Kong : Energy Conservation Measures
- Turn off fluorescent tube lights in non-operational warehouse office areas (approximately 10% of warehouse lighting).
- Shut down meeting room lighting, used only for customer meetings.
- Switch off 1 out of 4 air conditioners during Winter and Spring (October 2024 to March 2025).

Singapore : Energy Saving Measures in Place at the Warehouse
- Lighting: Lights are switched off when not in use to reduce electricity consumption.
- Air Conditioning: Temperature set to 25°C to optimize energy use.
- Material Handling Equipment (MHE): Recharge equipment only when battery level drops to 20% to conserve energy.

- Remove the central fluorescent tube from each light panel.
- L2 Office Breakout Area – Turn off lights and utilize natural daylight by opening the blinds.

Indonesia - Energy-Saving Practices :
- Office 1st Floor & Prayer Room: Lights and air conditioning are turned off after work hours.
- Office 2nd Floor : Lights and air conditioning are turned off after work hours.
- Server Room: Lights are used only when needed; air conditioning runs alternately every 24 hours.
- Inbound Loading Area: Hydraulic dock operates only during container unloading.
- MHE Charging Area: Equipment is charged only when battery levels drop below 20%.
- Office Door Area: Motion sensors operate on battery power.

Malaysia - Lighting & Energy Efficiency Improvements :
- Replaced all fluorescent T8 tube lights with energy-efficient LED lighting in the warehouse.
- Installed motion-sensor lights in low-traffic areas.
- Ensured lights, fans, and air conditioning are switched off when areas are unoccupied.
- Implemented auto/manual dimming controls in outbound areas, allowing brightness adjustment from 30% to 100%.

Sustainability & Cost-Saving Actions
- Replaced a faulty refrigerator with a 2-door inverter refrigerator to improve energy efficiency.
- Sold recycled wrapping paper cores at RM0.30 per piece, supporting waste reduction and cost recovery.

These initiatives reflect our continued commitment to energy efficiency, sustainability, and responsible resource management.
