We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our ASEAN and Hong Kong Centre of Excellence, supporting payroll operations for approximately 1,500 employees across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Hong Kong. This role requires a solid payroll practitioner who is comfortable managing end-to-end payroll processing in a multi-country environment, with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and meeting strict timelines. This role requires a strong payroll practitioner with deep operational knowledge, high attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-country environment. Experience with HRIS systems (Workday preferred) and exposure to PECI integrations will be a strong advantage.
Responsibilities
- Manage external payroll vendors across ASEAN and Hong Kong, ensuring accurate, timely payroll delivery, issue resolution, and compliance with agreed service standards and statutory requirements
- Manage full-cycle, end-to-end payroll processing for multiple countries, including:
- Payroll and commission calculations
- Payroll reconciliation and validation
- Payslip generation and reporting
- Ensure timely, accurate payroll delivery in compliance with country-specific statutory requirements
- Prepare and provide data for statutory filings and audits within stipulated deadlines
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee data in payroll and HRIS systems (Workday)
- Validate and monitor data integration flows (including PECI) between systems
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in payroll data, integrations, and reports
- Prepare monthly payroll and HR reports, including and not limited to headcount, cost, and statutory-related reports
- Ensure compliance with local employment laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements across all 5 countries
- Maintain detailed documentation, audit trails, and payroll processing checklists
- Handle payroll-related queries and provide employee support
- Continuously review payroll processes and recommend improvements for efficiency and accuracy
- Perform ad hoc HR and payroll-related assignments as required
Job Requirements
- Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, in any field of Human Resource Management, Business Studies or equivalent.
- Minimum 7–10 years of hands-on payroll experience, preferably with multi-country payroll exposure.
- Well versed with current HR practices and sound knowledge of local employment law in the countries we present in addition to other statutory employment requirements.
- Proven ability to manage high-volume payroll processing with accuracy and tight deadlines.
- Knowledge in payroll/ HRMS systems such as Workday, Dayforce, Ramco will be added advantage
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office programs and reporting tools with excellent communication and presentation skills will be added advantage.
- Meticulous and detail-oriented with strong analytical skills, able to work independently while managing stakeholders effectively, and driven by results with a strong sense of ownership.
