We recently spoke with Mayra Estrada, sr HR professional, based out of Ingram Micro’s Advanced Logistics Center (ALC) in Mira Loma, California. After 15 years, Mayra is still excited to go into the office every day. Let’s find out why.  

Mayra shared that she began working at Ingram Micro in a temporary role during peak season. Soon after, Mayra was offered a full-time HR coordinator position. Since then, she has been promoted three times. “I am so grateful for the developmental opportunities that Ingram Micro has afforded me, including tuition reimbursement so that I could pursue my dream of getting a college degree,” shared Mayra. “I’ve worked very hard to prove that I’m ready for promotion. And each time I have been promoted, I realized that my hard work paid off.”   

The Mira Loma ALC is one of many Ingram Micro worldwide distribution centers. “Working at an Ingram Micro ALC is very exciting. You get to see how people and technology work together to move product and ensure it gets to its destination. It is a diverse and inclusive environment where I get the opportunity to mentor and support others. While being strategic and logical are important skills in my role, effective communication and fairness are skills that I pride myself in.”  

From birthdays, holidays to charitable events, Mira Loma associates find many opportunities to celebrate their achievements and each other. “One event that really stands out for me is the Ronald McDonald House Inland Empire Walk for Kids. Last year we had a “bee” theme. We all dressed up like bees and as we walked, we sang and danced and even won most spirited team. After the event, we celebrated our participation and fundraising achievement at a local restaurant.” One word that Mayra continued to share about her wonderful experiences at Ingram Micro was “culture”. “People come here for the opportunity and stay because of the culture. That’s why there are so many tenured associates.”
