Your role:
The Senior Risk Analyst will support the Risk Management department’s evolution into a more strategic, technical, and analytically driven function. This role is designed for a high-performing risk professional with approximately 5–7 years of relevant experience who can operate effectively in a fast-paced, global, and technically complex environment. The position will provide critical analytical, operational, and project support across property and casualty insurance, complex claims, captive insurance development, trade credit insurance, total cost of risk reporting, and enterprise risk financing initiatives.
The Senior Risk Analyst will work closely with the Manager, Risk Management, the Director-level risk leader, brokers, carriers, internal finance and legal partners, and business stakeholders to improve data quality, strengthen claims and policy analysis, support renewal and captive readiness, and preserve institutional knowledge. The role requires strong technical curiosity, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex risk information into clear analysis and actionable recommendations.
- Support the administration, analysis, and ongoing management of global property and casualty insurance programs, including policy review, renewal preparation, exposure data collection, coverage analysis, and broker coordination.
- Assist with complex claims governance by tracking claim developments, maintaining claim documentation, analyzing loss trends, coordinating with brokers and carriers, and supporting escalation of high-exposure matters.
- Develop and maintain risk management reports, dashboards, and analyses related to premiums, retained losses, deductibles, collateral, claim costs, loss drivers, and total cost of risk.
- Support captive insurance feasibility, implementation, and ongoing governance efforts through data gathering, loss analysis, actuarial coordination, documentation, and project tracking.
- Partner with internal stakeholders across finance, treasury, legal, operations, credit, and business leadership to gather risk data, respond to information requests, and support informed decision-making.
- Assist with trade credit insurance administration, including exposure tracking, coverage support, insurer information requests, program documentation, and coordination with internal credit teams.
- Analyze policy language, endorsements, claim correspondence, contractual risk transfer provisions, and insurance requirements to identify issues, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain organized records of insurance policies, claims, renewals, certificates, actuarial studies, broker reports, loss data, and other critical risk management materials.
- Support process improvement initiatives that strengthen data integrity, workflow discipline, reporting quality, renewal readiness, and knowledge transfer within the department.
- Operate with urgency, accuracy, discretion, and professionalism in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift quickly and technical issues require thoughtful analysis.
What you bring to the role:
- 8 + years of experience in risk management, commercial insurance, claims, brokerage, underwriting, corporate finance, credit risk, audit, actuarial analysis, legal operations, or a related technical business environment.
- Strong working knowledge of property and casualty insurance concepts, claims processes, exposure data, policy documentation, deductibles, retentions, and renewal workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex information, identify trends, synthesize findings, and communicate recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong comfort working with large data sets, reports, schedules, policy documents, and analytical workpapers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare concise summaries, professional correspondence, and executive-ready analysis.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines, competing priorities, and time-sensitive requests in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with brokers, carriers, internal business partners, finance, legal, operations, and credit teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in risk management, finance, accounting, business, economics, legal studies, data analytics, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting captive insurance, alternative risk financing, actuarial analysis, risk retention strategies, or large deductible programs.
- Exposure to trade credit insurance, credit risk, global insurance programs, multinational operations, or supply chain risk management.
- Experience reviewing claim files, policy language, contracts, certificates of insurance, loss runs, or broker renewal submissions.
- Professional designations or progress toward ARM, CPCU, CRM, RIMS-CRMP, AINS, or similar risk and insurance credentials.
- Experience with Power BI, data visualization, claims systems, risk management information systems, or other reporting platforms is a plus.
Core Competencies
- Technical aptitude: Comfortable working through detailed insurance, claims, credit, financial, legal, and analytical information.
- Analytical discipline: Able to identify patterns, validate data, assess risk drivers, and prepare clear recommendations.
- Execution focus: Delivers accurate work product under tight timelines while maintaining strong follow-through.
- Business partnership: Builds credibility with internal stakeholders, brokers, carriers, and external advisors through responsiveness and professionalism.
- Curiosity and growth mindset: Demonstrates interest in developing deeper expertise in insurance, captive structures, claims governance, trade credit, and enterprise risk financing.
- Discretion and judgment: Handles sensitive business, financial, claims, and insurance information with appropriate confidentiality and care.
Role Impact:
The Senior Risk Analyst will be an important part of the department’s future-state operating model by expanding analytical capacity, strengthening execution discipline, supporting technical insurance and risk financing work, and helping preserve institutional knowledge. Over time, this role should develop into a deeper risk management resource capable of assuming broader responsibility and supporting the department’s long-term succession, governance, and strategic risk financing objectives.
