Read below the exciting story of our associate Blake Roberts, Global Process Manager based in New Zealand who has been with us almost a lifetime and gain fascinating insights into life and careers with us.

"I began my journey here in the last millennium, marking 23 years of being a part of Ingram. Fresh out of university, a newspaper advertisement caught my attention, offering what seemed like an appealing role. So, I took the leap, and now, here I am, about to complete 23 years. It's been a fulfilling journey so far, where I had the opportunity to work in a variety of roles. The continuous learning culture, here at Ingram Micro and the joy of acquiring new skills are what I value most about our organization. Over the years, I've had different roles, often trying out a new one every couple of years, or perhaps every three or four years. This pattern of evolution through different responsibilities has led to a constant state of learning, growth, and progress. It feels as if I'm embarking on a brand-new chapter, only this time, it's within the same organization. It all started with a credit controller position." Roberts stated.

Starting your career at Ingram Micro entails various growth opportunities and career advancement by acquiring various roles and responsibilities across a world-class global organization.

As Roberts highlighted "I believe that no matter where you are positioned, your diligent work and strong performance will catch the attention of everyone across the company. Ingram Micro has a practice of nurturing talent from within.

Hiring internally provides a deep understanding of the candidate's work ethic and output, making it easier to assess their suitability for a given role. If you put in dedicated effort, you will stand out within the organization. Colleagues also recognize your potential and suggest in what roles you will excel. This recognition makes the application process for different career opportunities more manageable, almost like a familiar path.”

For Roberts, working at Ingram Micro has been a transformative journey of over two decades, characterized by diverse roles, continuous learning, and an overall culture that values dedication and performance.
