When Om Panchal joined Ingram Micro in July 2024, he was stepping into his first full-time role after graduating in IT from Mumbai University. What he found was more than just a job—it was a launchpad for personal and professional transformation.

Ingram Micro was way beyond my expectations. The openness, the culture, the support—it was amazing,” Om shares.

A Culture of Openness and Growth

From day one, Om noticed something different. “You’re supposed to call your leaders by their first names. That doesn’t happen in India. It immediately made me feel comfortable and equal,” he says. This openness extended beyond his team—leaders across departments were approachable and eager to share knowledge.

The Campus to Corporate onboarding program played a key role in his smooth transition. “They explained what Ingram does, how the teams work, and gave us a clear picture of the business. It helped us settle in and feel part of something bigger,” he explains.

Real Work, Real Impact

As part of the SAP BRIM team, Om quickly found himself contributing to meaningful projects. “I was in charge of end-to-end regression testing for the C9 project and helped configure systems for countries like Spain, Italy, Germany, and India,” he says proudly. “It’s rare to see your work reflected in a live system so early in your career.

Personal Evolution

Om’s growth wasn’t just technical. “I’ve learned how to behave professionally, set deadlines, respect others’ time—and my own,” he reflects. “I used to be shy, but now I can voice my opinions confidently, even with senior leaders.

He also embraced the company’s vibrant culture. “I got to sing and dance at a cultural event with our global CEO in the audience. Where else do you get to do that in a corporate setting?

Supportive Teams and Mentorship

Om credits much of his success to the people around him. “My manager, Avinash, is always there when I’m stuck. I must have bugged him a hundred times, but he never hesitates to help,” he laughs. He also found a mentor in Anil Tari, Director of SAP COE India, who guided him in choosing the right team and aligning his career goals.

 Advice for Future Interns

Stay curious. Don’t hesitate to ask questions. And don’t forget your passion—make sure your role aligns with your goals,” Om advises. “You’re in for a great ride if you’re starting your career at Ingram.

When asked to sum up his experience in one word, Om doesn’t hesitate: “Wow.
