From Campus to Career: Nithyasree’s Start at Ingram Micro
Nithyasree I Trainee Software Developer India

When Nithyasree first heard about Ingram Micro during campus placement presentation, she was instantly captivated. “Everyone in my peer group wanted to join the company based on the presentation we saw—the culture, the events, the way they care for people. It was inspiring,” she recalls.
Now, nearly a year into her internship, Nithyasree is a Trainee Software Developer on the Product Search team within the Discovery Department of Engineering. Her journey has been nothing short of transformative.
A Launchpad for Growth
“I was driven by Ingram’s focus on digital transformation. I wanted to be part of that journey, however much I could contribute,” she says. And contribute she did. From bug fixes to feature development, Nithyasree has worked across both front-end and back-end technologies, including enhancements to the Xvantage search page and API health checks.
But it wasn’t just the technical exposure that stood out. “The Campus to Corporate Launchpad helped me set my goals. It gave me clarity on where I want to take my career,” she explains. Through 15–20 sessions, she learned about growth mindset, communication, and professionalism—skills that have shaped her both personally and professionally.
A Culture of Connection
One of the most surprising aspects of her experience? The accessibility of leadership. “We had the opportunity to meet top leaders within our first month at Ingram. I can walk into their office and have a conversation—that’s what I love about Ingram,” she shares.
Her team, too, has been a pillar of support. “They make sure I get the right amount of work and guide me through any blockers—even if it takes hours of debugging together,” she says. With mentors both inside and outside her team, Nithyasree never felt alone in navigating her new environment.
Advice for Future Interns
To those just starting out, Nithyasree offers this advice: “Don’t be scared. Be calm. Embrace everything that comes your way. Ingram will make you feel comfortable—it’s like a family.”
When asked to describe her internship in one word, she doesn’t hesitate: “Spectacular.”
Looking Ahead
“If I had to do it again, I’d join Ingram again. The exposure and growth potential here are huge. I can see myself growing into a successful professional,” she says with confidence.
