For Lalin Akad, Senior HPE Global Vendor Marketing Manager based in Canada, joining Ingram Micro marked the beginning of an exciting career journey. After relocating to Canada ten years ago, she faced a challenge many newcomers experience: despite extensive international experience, she was often told she lacked the "local" experience needed for roles in the country.

"Ingram Micro was open to diversity and accepting diverse experiences and backgrounds, which was even more reason to join the company," Lalin shares.

Fortunately, her hiring manager recognized the value of her unique background and potential, giving her the opportunity to prove herself. Looking back, it was a decision that benefited both Lalin and the business.

Growing Through New Challenges

Over the past eight years, Lalin has held multiple roles within Ingram Micro, beginning in Canada before progressing into a variety of global positions across different teams. Today, she leads strategic vendor marketing initiatives for HPE on a global scale, working closely with regional and global stakeholders to drive marketing strategy, planning, and execution around the world.

Making an Impact on a Global Scale

One accomplishment she is particularly proud of is her progression into a senior global marketing role supporting HPE, one of the world's leading technology companies.

"I was able to grow further up in the company to a senior global marketing role where I support HPE's global marketing strategy," she says.

A Culture Where Everyone Can Thrive

For Lalin, growth at Ingram Micro extends beyond career advancement. She describes the culture as highly inclusive and collaborative, where employees are encouraged to share ideas, challenge the status quo, and continuously learn from one another.

"Everyone is given the opportunity to grow and find their own path at Ingram Micro," she explains. "You can speak up openly, share ideas, and people will listen to your perspective respectfully."

Advice for Future Associates

When asked what advice she would give to someone considering a career at Ingram Micro, Lalin's answer is simple:

"Be ready to learn and grow every day as you push yourself to stretch your limits.”
