Who am I and Why I joined Ingram Micro

My name is Kevin Webb, part of the AWS Services business development team at Ingram Micro, based in the UK. I’ve been in the IT industry for over 30 years, and while I’ve worked with many organizations, joining Ingram Micro felt like coming full circle. It’s a name I’ve known and respected throughout my career—one I’ve partnered with, bought from, and now proudly represent.

What drew me to Ingram Micro and AWS was the immense opportunity in the cloud space—especially around migration and modernization. Distribution plays a critical role in scaling these efforts, and I saw a chance to be part of something transformative.

What makes Ingram Micro special

The people. From day one, I’ve encountered collaboration, humility, and genuine inspiration. There’s no ego here—just a shared commitment to excellence. Whether it’s through onboarding, global calls, or cross-regional teamwork, the culture is consistently supportive and inclusive.

A proud moment: Empowering our partners

One of my proudest achievements was enabling our partners during my first 90 days. I ran sessions to help them understand cloud viability assessments and access AWS funding through the Migration Acceleration Program. Seeing those partners come back with real opportunities—sometimes just days after a session—was incredibly rewarding.

It’s proof that when you empower people with knowledge and confidence, they rise to the occasion.

The Secret Ingredient: Listening and Trust

I believe the key is knowledge and trust. I understand the industry deeply, and I know the pain points—whether it’s legacy systems, regulatory complexity, or cloud migration. But more importantly, I listen. Active listening has become a core part of my growth here. It’s about understanding the partner’s context before jumping in with solutions.

That trust leads to real engagement—and real results.

Working across borders: Global Collaboration

I love working with people from different cultures and time zones. Whether it’s sharing best practices with our US team or collaborating with colleagues in Spain on VMware migration strategies, the global nature of our work is energizing. We learn from each other, accelerate together, and build something bigger than ourselves.

How I’ve grown since joining

Even with decades of experience, I’ve grown by focusing on active listening. In a fast-paced environment, it’s easy to jump in with solutions. But real impact comes from understanding the partner’s context first. Listening deeply has helped me build trust, navigate complexity, and deliver meaningful outcomes.
