Meet Alex Parkinson, a key player in our EMEA Cloud Services Team at Ingram Micro. Based in the United Kingdom and with nearly a decade of experience with us, Alex has seen firsthand the evolution of our company culture and values.

Alex began his journey at Ingram Micro as a Messaging Consultant in 2015, and over the years, he has successfully delivered many cloud-based solutions for customers on behalf of our partners. Today, he drives the strategy and direction of our public cloud services portfolio, leading a team of technical leads, architects, consultants, and delivery engineers.

“No two days are the same, each bringing new challenges, conversations, opportunities, and partners,” Alex reflects. He highlights the importance of collaboration within his role, leveraging tools like Microsoft Teams and Amazon Chime to stay connected with his geographically diverse team across the EMEA region.

One of Alex’s proudest achievements is driving the strategy, development, and growth of our AWS services practice over the past 24 months. “It has been a privilege to work alongside both local and international colleagues, as well as AWS as a vendor, and I’m proud to say that this venture continues to grow from strength to strength,” he shares.

Alex stays engaged with the organization and its purpose through several channels such as the participation in our EMEA AWS technical community which allows him to stay abreast of industry trends, share knowledge, and collaborate with peers across the region.

Talking about our culture, Alex shares “We maintain close relationships, and I can confidently say that my team members and our wider colleague base across the globe are always willing to offer their time, support, and guidance”.

Working for Ingram Micro offers a supportive work-life integration that aligns with Alex’s home-based setup. The flexibility to manage his time and diary allows him to balance professional responsibilities effectively while accommodating the different time zones his team supports, as needed. This flexibility not only enhances productivity but also promotes a healthier work-life balance.

At Ingram Micro, we’re committed to fostering a supportive and collaborative culture, and we’re excited about the growth of our AWS team. If you’re passionate about cloud services and looking for a rewarding career with opportunities for professional growth, we’d love to hear from you. Join us in shaping the future of cloud services.
